After leaving the University of Creative Arts in Surrey Chris Fretwell has worked at The NFT, BFI, with producer Sarah Radclyffe, at Working Title Films and also production managed an award winning documentary with the BAFTA winning director Stuart Urban.
He recently wrote and directed the award winning short film ‘The Pugilist’s Son’ which starred Gary Stretch ( Dead Man’s Shoes ) and Paul Barber ( The Full Monty ). Chris not only developed the project but also raised the money and arranged the talent for all the leading roles as well as gaining support from the Hollywood producer Mark Stewart ( Frozen Ground & Escape Plan ).
Following this short film Chris was hired as 2nd Unit Director on the feature film ‘AB Negative’ starring Vincent Regan ( 300, Snow White & the Huntsman ).
Chris has recently directed another short film called Catford Jesus which has so far played at 5 international film festivals.
Currently, Chris is developing a range of screen plays with various Producers including a prison movie which is a prequel to the film Cass ( 2008 ).
